I’m getting ready for my annual trip to North Myrtle Beach; so I’m thinking some packing tips for fun in the sun might be helpful as you’re planning your beach getaway, too. We all want to sit back and relax at the beach without having to go purchase forgotten items; so let’s pack smart from the start! A great place to begin is with the beach bag. Select a large water resistant bag with handy compartments or pockets to separate the sandy items from the clean ones. A purse organizer may be perfect for those extra pockets. Rolling the beach blanket and towel together and putting it into the bag vertically will not only save space but will make for easy access. Don’t forget the lip balm with sun protection, sunscreen with 15 SPF or higher, after sun lotion with aloe, insect repellant, a best-selling novel, and a water bottle. Staying hydrated is extremely important. You’ll probably already be wearing a cover-up, flip flops, a hat, and sunglasses. If you’re driving, pack an umbrella, chair, and cooler or insulated bag, or you may consider renting the chair and umbrella.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1654″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Now onto the actual packing and deciding what you’re going to wear. Neutrals work best – just add a pop of color with accessories. You’re on vacation; so leave the pieces that require ironing at home. I recommend just packing three pairs of shoes to have additional space for clothes and a lighter load to transport. I usually wear my athletic shoes since they’re bulky and heavy and pack a pair of wedges and sandals. I think the following items can be packed in a suitcase that you can take directly on the plane:
- 2 swimsuits
- 2 tunics that can serve as a cover-up, too
- 2 sundresses
- 3-7 panties and 2-3 bras depending on washer/dryer facilities
- PJ’s
- 2-3 pair of gym shorts
- 2 t-shirts and 3 tank tops
- 2 sparkly going out tops and a linen camp shirt
- A pair of shorts and pants preferably white
- Pashmina for cool breezes or air conditioning
- I statement necklace and hoop earrings
- Travel size toiletries
- Electronic chargers
You are ready to go have fun in the sun!
