Who do you know that has traveled to 6 continents and 45 states? The 5 remaining are the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Since my husband doesn’t particularly want to accompany me, I might be looking for a buddy to go with me. Yes, traveling is one of my passions!
“Summertime and living is easy”- except when it comes to packing for travel or vacations! Over packing can be a problem. I remember my first time traveling overseas with a huge suitcase. It was so heavy that boarding the trains was impossible without assistance. I learned my lesson and now pack the essentials efficiently in a medium sized suitcase. My carry on has a change of clothes just in case my luggage is late or lost.
Many women have mentioned that they struggle with packing especially for professional meetings. I have helped numerous clients pack right and light for all kinds of occasions from business to pleasure; sometimes with just a carry on!
Here are some important considerations before you start packing:
Check the Weather – This step can be a money saver and help you decide what to pack for your comfort.
Roll, Don’t Fold and Use Packing Cubes – Rolling clothes saves space and reduces wrinkles. Cubes keep things organized and are great for separating clean/dirty clothes or casual/business outfits.
Charge Before You Go + Pack a Power Strip – This strategy will keep you connected and avoid the search for outlets.
Medications & Small First Aid Kit – Include pain relievers, motion sickness tabs, allergy meds, etc.
Travel Docs, ID, Confirmations, and Itinerary – Print or digital — just have backups ready.
